Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian actor and TV host. She is best known for her role as the lead in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. Alexandra was the only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. at the age of 16, she had already secured a number of TV roles for instance, the lead in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, in Downfall. The film received nominations for an Oscar and received critical and commercial popularity. The other Oscar nominated films featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was associated with numerous important projects both locally and internationally. The projects include British biographical feature Control Greek dramatic film The Dust of Time French historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. The actress also served on the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
